The Racing Mom

Posted by Liza Elliott-Ramirez December - 16 - 2012

Life as a mom can often feel like a race. We so often don’t notice how busy and action packed our lives are until stress rears its ugly head. Filling our schedules with back to back work and activities is a hard act to follow. Although little signs to slow down tap you on the shoulder we’re usually too busy to notice. So many errands are done out of necessity and tend to use up all of our free or off time. In today’s world faster and more seem to imply happy and success. Is it really what we want? What we need?

When was the last time you were able to practice the art of doing nothing? Or allow your body to detox from stress and constant activity? If your life is anything like mine, I can’t remember. You areĀ  responsibleĀ  for you’re family but you are also responsible for your well-being.

You may have to:

1. Put yourself first on the list of things to do: This means 30 minute or more of anything you enjoy.

2. Prepare the family for your solo time: Get the kids down early, or schedule a baby sitter to help watch the kids.

3. Stick to the plan: Don’t let yourself or anyone talk you out of needed time.

However you need to structure or carve out time, make it happen. As a mom you rightfully deserve a break and will return as a peaceful and loving woman.

One Response so far.

We are a personal grocery delivery service. Our goal is to reach out to all the busy moms in hopes we can take one of the weekly burdens away. What mom wouldn’t like an extra 2 hours a week?
