For the record, I’m completely comfortable with people touching my bump. The more love for my baby belly, the better!

Anyone disagree or have had an awkward experience?

I just saw a shirt online that read “if you are not the one who put this baby in here, or are not the one taking it out, then do not touch!” I thought that was a humerous yet stearn way to tell people not to touch the bump. I think it is inappropriate for any stranger to touch any part of my body, why would that change because I am preggars???

Cool shirt you found online, it makes a good point too.

Michelle, I agree with your stranger comment. I guess I’ve never had a stranger actually touch my belly, it’s always been friends and family. Maybe I give off the don’t touch me vibe to strangers! All of my friends and family that touch my belly have asked permission beforehand.

I think anyone that really feels the need to touch a pregnant woman’s belly should always ask before reaching. Then you’ll never be offensive.

Michelle, how would you feel if friends and family asked to touch your belly when pregnant? Would that it for you or are you sticking by the t-shirt’s words?

No, not as offended when close friends or family want to touch. But with my first 12 years ago, there were people who did touch my belly that I barely knew or didn’t know at all. It surprised me too because I thought I gave off the vibe as well but I was only 20 and I guess I didn’t have the courage to tell them to bug off. But my circle is pretty small now so all of the people that are close to me will have permission as long as they don’t get carried away;)
