Do you remember when avocados were considered a luxury and their soft buttery flesh was much sought after? Over the past couple of decades, however, we have witnessed so much planting by commercial growers that avocados have grown in overabundance. As a result we tend to take these lovely fruit vegetables for granted. As a pregnant woman, this can in fact be your lucky day!

Avocados contain Folic Acid, a necessary vitamin during pregnancy. Pregnant woman should increase Folic Acid intake to between 400-800 Mcg per day to prevent newborn low birth weight and neutral effects. Good Fats such as monounsaturated may help your baby’s brain develop.

So crave away ladies! Enjoy the benefits of this suitable veggie-fruit! Pregnancy cravings are part of this joyous journey!
