Guidelines with Tips and suggestions for taking Maternity Modeling Digitals

The wall or back drop behind you should be a solid white, off white, or light gray. Photographs using natural light is best.

Avoid using iphone or Android phone’s unless the quality is similar to an iphone 7 Plus

 Maternity Modeling Digitals Tips:

Makeup:

Wear makeup as you would for attending a casting.

Makeup should enhance your beauty and not distort your natural beauty. Wear a tad of  makeup to add a pop of color for your face.

-No false eyelashes or heavy foundation.

Hair:

Hair should be clean and styled as you would attend a casting.

If you wear your hair curly, please shoot as you are displayed in your portfolio and or headshot.

I love natural Afros and curly hair, so if you fall into that category, please don’t touch a thing! Have fun with exactly who you are!

If you wear wigs for different looks (which perhaps might be featured in your portfolio) try shooting with one or two hairstyles,  particularly if that’s what is featured in your portfolio.

Grooming personal Hygiene:

Waxed and or shaved underarms, legs, bikini, lip and eyebrows-

Nails:

Nude or pink polish on hands and feet.

What to wear

-2 piece Swimsuit

-Jog bra and jeans

-Cropped tee shirt and spaghetti tank top

Wear a pair of black high pumps! They help give you that extra lift adding diva glam complimenting your blossoming bump!

Warm Up:

Please be sure to take a moment to stretch out, meditate or do whatever you need to do to walk on set relaxed and ready to move!

Think of it this way… When a musician is about to perform, they warm up, correct?

As a model, it’s important that your body is warmed up so you have the freedom to express yourself through movement.

Don’t’s

Avoid clothing which are NOT FORM FITTING!

Don’t hold your belly. We want to see your bump! Hands off your own belly!

No dresses, skirts or outfits that show feature the shape of your body.

No hats

No braids

No sneakers

Don’t shoot your entire wardrobe.

Now it’s time to SHOOT!

Directions:

Photograph all angles:

Full length- from head to toe.

Front view- straight view, legs spread apart

Right, left Profile view

¾ view both right and left sides
