You! Lingerie to take maternity fashion by storm at Lingerie Fashion Week in New York City on August 3rd, 2013.

Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger, CEO and founder of You! Lingerie, realized that several women sacrifice their sexy lingerie for one-dimensional, boring nursing bras, after pregnancy and birth. On August 3, Lingerie Fashion Week will feature maternity lingerie that will have pregnant women throwing out their one-colored, disappointing under garments.

With top models from Expecting Models Inc., You! Lingerie will present their Maternity & Nursing Collection for expecting and breastfeeding moms at  Fashion Week in New York, NY.

Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger Lingerie

You! Lingerie and Expecting Models Inc. have partnered up to showcase the beauty in Lingerie Fashion at the Metropolitan Pavilion Suite in New York. You! Lingerie has transformed the maternity fashion world as well as the lingerie industry.

Practical, affordable, flirty, and sexy, the bras and panties from You! Lingerie allow women to feel beautiful as they utilize nursing bras for their new motherhood said Eichelberger.

As a mother of two, Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger hunted for stylish and sexy maternity bras, she only found bras that were bland or pricey.

“I had my daughter, and as a new mom, I had no idea what I was getting into, but I knew I was going to breastfeed,” said founder and CEO of You! Lingerie, Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger.

At the birth of her first daughter four years ago, Okebie-Eichelberger searched endlessly for sexy maternity bras and could not find something in her style and budget.

“The options that were available were either very boring or ugly,” said Okebie-Eichelberger. “When I searched and searched and dug deeper, I did find some kind of cute options but they were really pricey.”

Frustrated with her limited and expensive options, Okebie-Eichelberger started to talk to other pregnant women and discovered that she was not the only one with this issue.

“The more women I talked to, the more I realized that there might be an opportunity here,” discovered Okebie-Eichelberger. After Okebie-Eichelberger talked to over 350 moms, she realized that expensive bras were not worth the money considering that “breastfeeding is really for a period of time in your life,” said Okebie-Eichelberger.

Discovering a niche, Okebie-Eichelberger took “matters into [her] own hands” and started You! Lingerie in the fall of 2010 designing fashionable and luxurious nursing lingerie to fashionista moms at a very affordable price. “I named it You! Lingerie because you are a mommy, but you are still you with a new life, and ‘you’ is an anagram for my name Uyo.”

The founder conveys that women either want to continue their sexy confidence or want an emotional boost during this time of pregnancy and nursing.

“You’re going through a time in your life that you may feel a way you don’t normally do… you should not give up who you are just because you’re pregnant or breastfeeding,” said the founder and CEO.

Mompreneur Okebie-Eichelberger realizes that new moms are sacrificing their sexy lingerie after giving birth for plain and purely functional nursing bras.

“The idea resonates with a lot of moms. People Google sexy maternity bras, believe it or not,” said Okebie-Eichelberger. The goal of You! Lingerie is to “help moms look and feel beautiful everyday.”

Customers of You! Lingerie are “the moms that are used to wearing pretty things and don’t wanna give it up, or even the woman trying to find the sexy in herself,” said the CEO.

First launched in 2010, You! Lingerie first showcased their Signature You! collection in Atlanta, Georgia. Known for their excellent online customer service and delivery, You! Lingerie serves customers in the U.S., Canada, and 14 other countries in over 100 stores internationally.

“We’re always listening to feedback from customers and always considering how to make things better,” said Okebie-Eichelberger. “Now we talk to our customers with questionnaires and social media to see what designs they like… the world is at our fingertips with how connected we are.”

You! Lingerie includes their signature hot pink color, bows, comfortable cotton lining, and of course, nursing clips. This unique and beautiful lingerie appeals to all new moms searching for stylish and comfortable bras and panties. In addition to the beautiful lingerie, You! Lingerie will also add their maternity sleepwear to their lineup at Lingerie Fashion Week.

When it comes to the designing, “it’s literally me and my sketch pad, and I love to bounce ideas off of people. I have a great team,” said the mother of two. She even states that her husband is one of her best supporters with “great insights.”

Lingerie Fashion Week began in February of 2013 and features new lingerie brands twice a year in February and August. You! Lingerie is making its first debut at this coming fashion week. Several new lingerie collections are featured on the runway to reach not only the multi-billion dollar lingerie industry but also domestic and international consumers.

Founder and mom comments that there are “so many designers who are doing amazing work and deserve to show to the world what they’re doing.” Lingerie FW is “gaining more and more ground with the press and is a force to be reckoned with,” said Okebie-Eichelberger.

You! Lingerie plans to take part in Lingerie FW every year and maybe even twice a year in both February and August. For now, the mompreneur is looking forward to the fashion show this August featuring her 32 looks. “I have a feeling its going to go amazingly well,” said Okebie-Eichelberger.

With a four-year-old daughter, 18-month-old son, and her own company, the founder and CEO said that she has a “lot of late nights.” However, she finds that “a lot of moms appreciate what we are doing, which makes it so worth it.”

With all her success, Okebie-Eichelberger acknowledges that there is a lot of controversy regarding “sexy maternity” but conveys that “there’s a sexy person underneath the mother, it’s a mature sexy.”

Although she says that society has “come a long way,” the mother of two argues that “we really do need to normalize breastfeeding; it’s been around since the beginning of mankind.”

When looking into her future, Okebie-Eichelberger knew that when she started You! Lingerie she “wanted to do this in the long run.”

“I look at You! Lingerie being more than what we’re doing today, more than just lingerie… we want the moms to find all their needs,” stated the mompreneur. She hopes to start designing workout attire and swimwear along with her maternity lingerie collections.

Starting the fashion show on day 3 on August 3, Expecting Models and You! Lingerie are both thrilled to be working to in this partnership at Lingerie Fashion Week and are looking forward to their maternity lingerie debut together on the runway.

I am so glad this line exists. I was looking for a brand that would encompass designer details and functionality the whole time I was preparing my hospital bag and never found anything suitable. I can’t wait to get pregnant again to try the line out.

I attended the show and absolutely loved it!

    My favs this season were:

Bella Cerise: a hot pink and black lace combo, no underwire and hip hugger panty.

Charlotte: black on white polka dot baby doll.

and Berry Monroe: A leopard print and pink lace no underwire with thing panty.

And I have to say the girls looked great. Both professional models and non professional did a great, great job.
